aireg and its members are very happy to welcome Uniper SE as a new member.

Uniper SE is an internationally operating group in the fields of electricity generation, energy storage and energy services. Furthermore, Uniper SE committed to ramp-up the market share of green hydrogen and sustainable energy carriers through the membership in the PtX-Allianz and the Global Alliance Powerfuels - this objective is further pursued with the aireg membership.

Siegfried Knecht, chairman and board member of aireg, said to fellow associates:'We are extremely happy that, as an internationally operating and connected group, Uniper has allowed us to welcome them as our newest member. Working closely together, we will be able to pursue our shared goal of promoting the development, production and commercialization of sustainable aviation fuels, first and foremost hydrogen and hydrogen-based fuels, and thereby reducing the climate impact of the aviation sector significantly.'Commenting on Uniper SE's entry, David Bryson, COO, said:'Uniper is pursuing clearly defined decarbonization targets. We have pledged to make our European generation CO2-neutral by 2035 and our whole business CO2 neutral by 2050. Through our expertise and partnerships we want to drive sector coupling. To achieve this, we are pioneering the energy transition, particularly in hydrogen. If we want to make carbon intense sectors more climate-friendly, such as aviation, there is no alternative to decarbonizing their fuels. Together with aireg, we set the course for this.'
