United Parcel Service aims to hire on more than 100,000 additional workers to handle packages and delivery during the upcoming holiday season.

The news comes on the heels of Amazon announcing it was slowing its hiring pace citing over expansion during the pandemic time frame.

The UPS plan is on par with its previous years' hiring efforts despite the fact that e-commerce activity is dipping slightly after two years of robust consumer adoption during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The jobs will be both full-time and part-time seasonal roles, according to an AOL Finance report. A little more than a third of those typically hired for seasonal needs move into permanent roles, according to UPS.

The company has reduced the hiring process time frame as well, claiming it now takes under 30 minutes for job applicants to get hired. A good majority, 80%, of the seasonal jobs don't require an interview, according to UPS.
