KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (AP) _ Universal Health Services Inc. (UHS) on Monday reported first-quarter profit of $153.9 million.

The King Of Prussia, Pennsylvania-based company said it had net income of $2.02 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, were $2.15 per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $2.47 per share.

The hospital and health facility operator posted revenue of $3.29 billion in the period, exceeding Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.22 billion.
