Sustainability action Uponor enhances its climate commitment by a wind power agreement with Gasum

Uponor has signed a 10-year agreement with the Nordic energy company Gasum to supply renewable wind energy.

The new agreement will cover around 25% of the annual electricity usage of Uponor's Finnish operations. Uponor has been using renewable electricity in its Finnish operations since 2020, but this long-term agreement ensures the availability also in the future and simultaneously advances the construction of new wind power capacity in Finland.

"We are committed to science-based climate targets to reduce CO2 emissions in our whole value chain. Renewable electricity is one important tool in reaching these targets and currently already 99% of our electricity used globally comes from renewable sources. With this long-term agreement we want to show our commitment to renewable alternatives and by creating demand also support the transition to the carbon neutral society," comments Michael Rauterkus, President and CEO, Uponor Corporation.
