BROOMFIELD, Colo. (AP) _ Vail Resorts Inc. (MTN) on Thursday reported a loss of $153.6 million in its fiscal fourth quarter.

On a per-share basis, the Broomfield, Colorado-based company said it had a loss of $3.82.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of $3.56 per share.

The ski resort operator posted revenue of $77.2 million in the period, also falling short of Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $135.7 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $98.8 million, or $2.42 per share. Revenue was reported as $1.96 billion.

Vail Resorts shares have decreased 6.5% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $224.23, a drop of 5% in the last 12 months.
