Vail Resorts - SEVEN SPRINGS, HIDDEN VALLEY AND LAUREL MOUNTAIN ANNOUNCE 2022/23 WINTER SEASON TARGET OPENING DATES, OPERATING HOURS.
SEVEN SPRINGS, PA. - Despite the steamy summer temperatures, western Pennsylvania's ski resort teams have winter on their minds.
In preparation for the upcoming 2022/23 ski and ride season, Seven Springs Mountain Resort, Hidden Valley Resort and Laurel Mountain Ski Area have announced their targeted opening dates and some exciting news about operating hours.
Seven Springs is targeting Fri., Nov. 25, for opening day, the day after Thanksgiving. Hidden Valley and Laurel Mountain plan to open Fri., Dec. 23. Seven Springs will add six more hours of slope operations per week. Hidden Valley and Laurel Mountain's hours of operation have been adjusted to provide guests with evening runs after work and school.
'It's been a busy, fun summer at our resorts, but we are eager to welcome back skiers and snowboarders this winter,' said Brett Cook, General Manager. 'Our team has been hard at work brainstorming ways to deliver an Experience of a Lifetime to all of our new and returning guests. This season, we're excited that means more time on snow and consistent hours that suit their busy work and school schedules.'
Seven Springs Slopes Hours of Operation
Monday through Friday: 9 a.m.-9 p.m.; Tubing from 1-8 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday: 8 a.m.-9 p.m., Tubing from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Hidden Valley Slopes Hours of Operation
Monday through Wednesday: 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Thursday and Friday: 10 a.m.-9 p.m.; Tubing on Friday from 4 - 8 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m.-9 p.m.; Tubing from 10 a.m. - 8 p.m.
Sunday: 9 a.m.-7 p.m.; Tubing from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Laurel Mountain Slopes Hours of Operation
Tuesday through Thursday: 12-8 p.m.
Friday: 10 a.m.-9 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m.-9 p.m.
Sunday: 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
Several projects are underway at each resort to improve the guest experience. At Seven Springs, 28 new snowmaking towers have been installed on Giant Steps and snowmaking pipe on Phillip's Run has been replaced. At Hidden Valley, seven new portable HKD snow guns have been added to the resort's snowmaking fleet, and Laurel Mountain has received upgrades to its internet service. The sales systems at all three resorts have been upgraded to cashless operations.
Vail Resorts is also investing heavily in its strongest asset - its team members-by increasing employee pay and offering new employee benefits and perks. The three Western Pennsylvania resorts offer full and part-time winter employees a $20 per hour minimum wage. In addition to highly competitive wages, employees also receive free Epic pass(es), free ski and snowboard lessons, 40% retail discounts, leadership development, and wellness benefits such as six free mental health sessions for employees and their dependents/roommates. This season, Vail Resorts will not require face coverings, vaccines or dining reservations across its resorts. With safety as its top priority, the company will continue to monitor the changing dynamics of the pandemic, but at this time does not plan to have any of these measures in place. Employees will continue to complete daily health screenings and resorts will still apply enhanced cleaning practices.
Guests planning to visit this winter - whether one day or every day - are encouraged to purchase their lift access in advance - whether it is a lift ticket, Epic Day Pass or season pass. Lift tickets will be limited every day, across every resort, during the 2022/23 season in order to preserve the guest experience at each resort. Availability of lift tickets will be visible on the Seven Springs, Hidden Valley and Laurel Mountain websites in the coming weeks. If tickets are sold out online, guests will not be able to purchase them at ticket windows.
Passes, including Epic Day Passes, and Pass Holder benefit tickets will not be limited. There is also no impact to guests who enroll in ski and ride school lessons that include lift access, or to employee and dependent pass access.
Skiers and riders have until Labor Day (Sept. 5) to lock in the best price on their Epic Pass. Pass products, including regional passes and day passes, are available now on the Epic Pass website.
