Vardhman Textiles Limited reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended September 30, 2021. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was INR 23,850.8 million compared to INR 16,252.3 million a year ago. Revenue was INR 24,525.4 million compared to INR 16,794.8 million a year ago. Net income was INR 4,814.9 million compared to INR 602.2 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 16.998 compared to INR 2.132 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 16.942 compared to INR 2.118 a year ago.
For the six months, sales was INR 43,120.5 million compared to INR 24,427 million a year ago. Revenue was INR 44,245 million compared to INR 25,401.1 million a year ago. Net income was INR 7,961.9 million compared to net loss of INR 40.7 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 28.114 compared to basic loss per share from continuing operations of INR 0.144 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was INR 28.014.
Vardhman Textiles Limited is an India-based vertically integrated textile manufacturer. The Company is primarily in the business of manufacturing, purchase and sale of textiles. Its segments include Textiles and Acrylic Fibre. Its businesses include yarns, fabrics, acrylic fiber, garments, collections, and special steel. Its yarn products include specialty yarns, acrylic, fancy and hand-knitting yarns, dyed yarns, grey yarns and others. Its garment product includes 100% cotton, poly cotton, cotton stretch or cotton lycra, linen, cotton Tencel, Cotton viscose, and Melange. The Company produces 2,40,000 metric tons of yarn and 220 million meters of woven fabric. It produces a variety of steels in terms of type and size. The product range includes rounds, squares, peeled/drawn center-less ground bars of carbon steel, case-hardening steel, through hardening steel and others. Its subsidiaries include Vardhman Acrylics Limited and VTL Investments Limited.
