Union employees ratify new labor agreement

Dayton, Ohio - Utility Workers Union of America (UWUA) Local 175 employee-members who work for Vectren Energy Delivery of Ohio (Vectren) voted Tuesday evening to ratify a new three-year contract. UWUA Local 175 represents approximately 120 of Vectren's natural gas employees in the greater Dayton area.

"A productive negotiations process and prompt mutual agreement are good news for our employees and their families," said Colleen Ryan, president of Vectren Energy Delivery of Ohio. "This contract ensures our skilled, dedicated workforce will continue providing safe, reliable natural gas to our customers in west central Ohio."

The early settlement comes months prior to the expiration of the existing contract in late October. Management and union representatives began discussions on the new contract in late April.

"UWUA Local 175 members take pride in the service they provide, and we are pleased to have an early agreement that will allow us to focus on providing safe, reliable natural gas to customers," stated UWUA Local 175 President, Greg Adams.

Vectren Energy Delivery of Ohio delivers natural gas to approximately 315,000 customers in all or portions of Auglaize, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clinton, Darke, Fayette, Greene, Highland, Logan, Madison, Miami, Montgomery, Pickaway, Preble, Shelby and Warren counties.
