Verallia-Q3 sales down 6.6%, Ebitda target maintained

Verallia reported a drop in third-quarter sales on Tuesday, down 6.6% year-on-year, citing "a persistently difficult market environment".

The French glass group posted sales of 870.6 million euros for the period, compared with 931.8 million euros a year ago.

"The group is still targeting adjusted Ebitda for 2024 at around that of 2022," Verallia CEO Patrice Lucas said in a statement.

Verallia's third-quarter Ebitda (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) totaled 210 million euros, the group said in the release.

Verallia is the world's third largest producer and the leading European producer of glass packaging for beverages and food products. In 2023, the group produced over 16 billion glass bottles and jars. At the end of 2023, the group has 34 glass production plants, 5 decoration plants and 12 cullet (used glass) treatment centres worldwide. Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: France (24.3%), Italy (22.4%), Germany (15%), Spain (14.9%), Brazil (6%) and other (17.4%).
