KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (AP) _ Vertex, Inc. (VERX) on Wednesday reported a loss of $3.9 million in its third quarter.

The King Of Prussia, Pennsylvania-based company said it had a loss of 3 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 8 cents per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 5 cents per share.

The company posted revenue of $110.7 million in the period, also exceeding Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $104.9 million.

For the current quarter ending in December, Vertex said it expects revenue in the range of $108 million to $110 million.

The company expects full-year revenue in the range of $422 million to $424 million.
