• Lisa Carlehed (`The Emigrants') stars in Swedish romantic comedy film
  • `R.S.V.P.' is Viaplay's latest feature-length Nordic production
  • Viaplay set to premiere at least 70 Originals in 2022

The Swedish romantic comedy `R.S.V.P.' will be the next original film in Viaplay's ongoing investment in feature-length Nordic storytelling. Set to premiere in the fourth quarter of 2022, `R.S.V.P.' brings together some of Sweden's hottest talents in front of and behind the camera, with the lead role played by Lisa Carlehed, recently nominated for Best Actress at Sweden's 2022 Guldbagge Awards for `The Emigrants'.

The film spans four years and is structured around nine chapters, each of which focuses on a different holiday celebration. At the centre of the narrative is Klara (Lisa Carlehed) - a 37-year-old single nurse whose perpetual search for love is increasingly causing her to question whether it even exists.

`R.S.V.P.' is directed by Moa Gammel (nominated for a Kristallen award for Best Actress for `Jordskott') and scripted by Ella Lemhagen (`I'll Be Home for Christmas'). The film is based on the award-winning 2015 Danish feature `Long Story Short' (Danish title: `Lang historie kort'), written by May el-Toukhy and Maren Louise Käehne.

Lisa Carlehed: "I'm so happy and proud to play Klara in `R.S.V.P.'. I'm surrounded by completely fantastic fellow performers - this is truly an ensemble piece. It's a privilege to portray Klara in all her insecurity and charm, and I love the way Moa Gammel gives such a key place in the film to visual style and music."

Filippa Wallestam, NENT Group Chief Content Officer: "Holiday celebrations mean different things for all of us - but they always mean something. Viaplay's latest film project is a warm and thoughtful story that offers a fresh view on this universal human experience. The amazing talents behind `R.S.V.P.' will make it a compelling addition to `Hilma', `Stockholm Bloodbath' and many more on Viaplay's fast-growing original film slate."

The star-packed cast also includes Oscar Töringe (`Thin Blue Line'), Christian Hillborg (`Young Royals'), Liv Mjönes (`The Holiday'), Johannes Bah Kuhnke (`Love & Anarchy'), Felice Jankell (`Snabba Cash'), Madeleine Martin (`Lea'), Anna Granath (`Anxious People'), Kristofer Kamiyasu (`Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard') and Line Verndal (`Ragnarok').

`R.S.V.P.' (Swedish title: `Tack för senast!') is executive produced by Max Hallén, Peter Bose and Jonas Allen for Miso Film, and by Lotta Dolk for Viaplay. Filming is currently underway in Stockholm. The film is distributed globally by Viaplay Content Sales.
