Viaplay marks Liv Ullmann's Academy Award with original documentary

• Legendary actress to participate in `Liv Ullmann: The Road Less Travelled'  
• Liv Ullmann received Academy Honorary Award on 25 March
• Viaplay set to premiere at least 70 Originals in 2022

Viaplay's next original documentary is `Liv Ullmann: The Road Less Travelled', an intimate portrait of one of Norway and Europe's greatest screen talents. Ullmann received an Academy Honorary Award on 25 March in recognition of a long career as actress, director, scriptwriter and activist, during which she has worked with luminaries such as Ingmar Bergman, Richard Attenborough and Terence Young. The English-language series is created by Dheeraj Akolkar, who collaborated with Ullmann on the acclaimed 2012 feature `Liv & Ingmar'.

Announcing the award, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences stated: "Liv Ullmann's bravery and emotional transparency has gifted audiences with deeply affecting screen portrayals". She received the prize alongside Hollywood superstars Samuel L. Jackson, Danny Glover and Elaine May. Ullmann was previously nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Actress, five Golden Globe Awards (winning one) and the Palme d'Or.

`Liv Ullmann: The Road Less Travelled' will combine new footage of Ullmann filmed during 2022 with exclusive interviews and archive material.
