Vietnam National Petroleum Group reported consolidated earnings results for the first half of 2017. For the first half, the company reported net revenue was VND 74,250 billion (USD 3.3 billion), up 26.4% over the same period last year. The increasing revenue is a result of the average price of WTI crude oil in the first six months of 2017 being $49.95 per barrel, a year-on-year rise of 25.6% (the average price of WTI crude oil in the first six months of 2016 was $39.78 per barrel). Profit before tax was VND 2,443 billion (USD 107 million), which is 52.2% of its annual target. Total consolidated profit after tax in the first six months of 2017 was VND 2,015 billion ($88.6 million), of which the Group's earnings in the total consolidated profit was VND 1,776 billion ($78 million).
