SPRINGFIELD, N.J. (AP) _ Village Super Market Inc. (VLGEA) on Thursday reported fiscal second-quarter profit of $4.6 million.

On a per-share basis, the Springfield, New Jersey-based company said it had profit of 31 cents.

The supermarket chain posted revenue of $522.8 million in the period.

Village Super Market shares have climbed slightly more than 8% since the beginning of the year. The stock has increased 14% in the last 12 months.
