Vinci SA said Thursday that passenger traffic at its airports plunged in the second quarter due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Vinci Airports--a subsidiary of Vinci Concessions, owned by Vinci--said passenger traffic fell 96.4% in the second quarter to 2.38 million passengers, while traffic fell 61.4% in the first half of the year to 47.7 million passengers.

"The travel restrictions imposed by many countries caused operations across the Vinci Airports network to grind to a near standstill in the second quarter," the company said.

However, passenger traffic is slowly resuming, the company said, after the recent lifting of restrictions.
