International stocks trading in New York closed lower on Tuesday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts fell 1.1%, to 150.36. The European index declined 0.9%, to 149.37; the Asian index dropped 1.7%, to 166.81; the Latin American index slipped 0.3%, to 188.91; and the emerging markets index decreased 1.5%, to 277.13

ADRs of Vivendi on Tuesday closed down 3.6%, to $9.78, after French billionaire Vincent Bollore disclosed he sold shares in the French media conglomerate steered by his family.

ADRs of Julius Baer Gruppe dropped 8.2%, to $12.81, after figures for the first four months came in below analysts' expectations.
