Today four boda boda riders have received a branded new motorbike at the Wangula Nga Kapo promotion which came to close during the handover ceremony at Shell Banda. The promotion which has been running for the last 12 weeks has seen a total of 40,000 boda riders get rewarded with prizes worth UGX 300 million shillings.

Speaking at the final handover event of the Wangula Nga Kapo promotion, Mr. Gilbert Assi, Managing Director, Vivo Energy Uganda said, 'the past 12 weeks, has given us an opportunity to interact with different boda riders who are a key customer segment for Shell. We remain committed to providing high quality services and products to our customers at all our Shell boda spots, a place we have specifically designated for our riders to get their motorbikes serviced and fuelled'.

A total of 15 branded new motorbikes were given out to boda riders across Uganda in areas within Kampala, it's outskirts like Kawempe, Nakawa, Kyengera, as well as Jinja, Rukungiri, Mbale, Masaka, Nebbi and others. Other boda riders were rewarded with prizes ranging from fuel, Shell Advance engine oil, motorbikes and essential safety equipment.

One of the winners Vicent Bukenya who operates from Kiito boda stage in Banda could not hide his joy, he said: 'The new motorbike is going to make it easier to provide for my family. I would not earn when my motorcycle spent long hours in the garage but with this new bike, I will be able to earn from both my old motorcycle and the one I have won today'.

Mr. Assi also thanked all boda riders that took part in the Wangula Nga Kapo promotion and congratulated all winners. 'We also happy that the number of boda riders that participated in this promotion has also grown.

The Wangula Nga Kapo promotion has been running across 73 Shell service stations and over 100 independent motorbike garages, bringing a total of more than 170 participating outlets.
