VMware Careers:Jaisree, tell us about your career journey to date?

Jaisree: I started my career as an intern and have evolved since then. During the early phases of my career, I was fortunate to work with some of the latest emerging products developed from scratch. Though it meant working late for months at length, to meet product milestones, it gave me one of the greatest learnings on teamwork, ownership, and accountability. It also gave me a wonderful opportunity for mentorship and molded me for greater things in the corporate world. 14 years ago, joining VMware was one of my best decisions. I've been through ups & downs, good times & challenges, and I am grateful to have been a part of this wonderful journey. I started as an individual contributor working on many of the acquired products in the management suite and transitioned to a management role, leading my team to build scalable, reliable & resilient products. 'Quality first' mindset is what I hold close to my heart and my current role pushes me to step into customers' shoes and influence product architecture to build scalable, cost-effective & meaningful solutions. It has been an enriching experience to work with some of the greatest minds and contribute to VMware's continued success.

VMware Careers: How is VMware different from any other technology company you have worked for in the past?

Jaisree: VMware is one of the best places I have worked so far. I was amazed by the adaptation of technology and innovative product offerings VMware has brought into the virtualization world. What I love the most here is our people & culture. Our leadership team truly values people and encourages employees to be innovative. We also value diverse thoughts and promote a very inclusive culture. This helps me bring my best to work every day.

VMware Careers: What has been the biggest lesson you have learned as you moved upwards in your career?

Jaisree: Success is purely based on attitude, commitment & self-discipline. A positive attitude is contagious and that works a long way in doing your best & encouraging others to follow the way. As a leader, the most important part is to know your team, trust your team and give them the freedom to be innovative & do their best in their unique way. Building trust relationships goes a long way in a team's success.

VMware Careers: Your team is hiring. Can you tell us more about your organization's charter?

Jaisree: Our Performance Engineering team is responsible for delivering scalable products and solutions. As part of this charter, we ensure the vRealize suite of products (SaaS & On-Prem) scale up to higher limits, are performant, and deliver an enriching customer experience. The role we are hiring for will play a key role in ensuring product stability and influencing system architecture, as we transform into SaaS first mindset, with ample opportunity to learn & grow.

VMware Careers: If someone reading this was coming to interview with you tomorrow for a role on your team, what advice would you have for them?

Jaisree: My advice would be to be your original self during the interview. We are looking for individuals who are self-motivated, innovative & have the passion & hunger to learn and contribute towards the performance engineering domain.
