Vodacom Group Ltd. said Friday that it has appointed Sitho Mdlalose to the role of interim chief financial officer, effective from July 1, and that the search for a permanent CFO is well-advanced.

The Johannesburg-based telecommunications company said Mr. Mdlalose will take over from Till Streichert, the current financial officer, who has resigned and will leave Vodacom on or around June 30.

Vodacom said that Mr. Mdlalose, who has been executive director of finance at Vodacom South Africa from 2017, has over 20 years of finance, management and consulting experience.

Shares at 1050 GMT were up 2.77 South African Rand (16 cents), or 2.3%, at ZAR123.91.
