Vodafone announced on Friday that it had successfully completed the sale of 79.2 million shares in the Indian mobile tower group Indus Towers, representing 3% of the capital.

The transaction, which took the form of a fast-track construction placement, enabled the operator to raise $330 million in funds, of which $105 million was used to meet debt repayment deadlines.

The remaining $225 million was used to acquire 1.7 billion shares in its Indian joint venture Vodafone Idea ('Vi'), increasing its stake in the company from 22.6% to 24.4%.
