TRATON GROUP CEO Christian Levin has awarded the "TRATON Logistics Leader of the Year" prize for 2020 and 2021 to two prominent figures on the international transportation scene. The award ceremony took place on November 25 as part of the gala reception of the Logistics Hall of Fame hosted in Berlin. Olaf Schabirosky (CEO of Hermes Germany) and Professor Michael Feindt (co-founder of Blue Yonder) have been named TRATON Logistics Leaders of the Year for 2020 and 2021, respectively. In his tribute, Christian Levin praised Schabirosky as a "modernizer who has been instrumental in driving the expansion of the CEP company's infrastructure and digitalization, even during the COVID-19 pandemic." Levin added that the Hermes Group was able to increase its sales revenue by 9.0% to €3.5 billion in fiscal year 2019/2020, not least because of the 53-year-old executive's intelligent change management and the corporate culture he personifies.

While Schabirosky made headlines in 2020, Michael Feindt received a lot of media attention in 2021. A few months ago, Japanese electronics corporation Panasonic invested a total of over 8.5 billion US dollars in Blue Yonder, a software company Feindt co-founded. The 63-year-old physicist took voluntary leave of absence as professor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology to have the opportunity to apply his knowledge and expertise in data-driven software development and artificial intelligence to the world of business. Blue Yonder algorithms improve predictions in pricing and merchandise planning and have tapped into considerable potential for cost saving, especially in retail.

Christian Levin, CEO of the TRATON GROUP: "The logistics industry owes much of its impressive success to outstanding personalities like Olaf Schabirosky and Professor Michael Feindt. We need their knowledge and creativity to make sustainable transportation reality as quickly as possible. For example, companies can use Professor Feindt's software to improve the efficient use of resources in their supply chains. And we need the support of policymakers to provide the right incentives for people to buy trucks and buses powered by alternative drives and to drive forward the expansion of the charging network in Europe that we urgently need - the sooner, the better."

The Logistics Hall of Fame honors individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the evolution of logistics and supply chain management. The accolade is awarded under the patronage of the German Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure. "TRATON Logistics Leader of the Year" is a title given to entrepreneurs and managers who have been particularly successful in promoting their companies or trailblazers in their field of work. The focus is on topicality and the benefits for the company in question.
