Volkswagen announces that its worldwide deliveries reached 9.03 million vehicles in 2024, down 2.3% on the previous year. This decline is due to lower deliveries in China (-10%), offset by increases in North America (+6%) and South America (+15%).

Electric vehicles (EVs) accounted for 8.3% of sales, with 744,800 units delivered (-3.4%).

In Europe, Volkswagen maintains its position as EV market leader with 21% market share, despite a drop in deliveries. Orders for EVs in Western Europe jumped by 88%, with the backlog reaching 170,000 vehicles, thanks to new models such as the Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer.

Finally, plug-in hybrids recorded a 5% increase in deliveries, driven by strong demand for second-generation models.
