Volvo Cars global sales up 3% in October
The sales increase was mainly driven by a strong performance of the electrified models in Europe. Sales in the US and China decreased, but the performance of the electrified range was stable.
The company's sales of electrified models, fully electric and plug-in hybrids, increased by 40% compared to the same period last year and accounted for 48% of all cars sold in October. Fully electric cars accounted for 22% during the period.
Total sales for the first ten months of the year amounted to 622,608 cars globally, an increase of 9% compared to the same period in 2023.
In Europe, sales amounted to 30,167 cars in October, an increase of 21 percent compared to the same period last year. Sales in the United States decreased by 17% in October and amounted to 9,360 cars. Sales in China amounted to 13,502 cars, a decrease of 10% compared to October last year.
