Brei­ten­bach, Febru­a­ry 9, 2022 - One of the worl­d's lar­gest bat­te­ry manu­fac­tu­rers, based in South Korea, has now qua­li­fied the latest pot­ting resin from Von Roll for mass pro­duc­tion of truck bat­te­ries for the first time. The Von Roll pro­duct clear­ly out­per­for­med the com­pe­ti­ti­on in all tech­ni­cal requi­re­ments. In addi­ti­on, it is based on a par­ti­cu­lar­ly envi­ron­ment­al­ly friend­ly for­mu­la­ti­on without sol­vents and cri­ti­cal hazar­dous chemicals.

Pot­ting resins play an important role in the con­struc­tion of high-per­for­mance dri­ve bat­te­ries in the rapidly gro­wing e‑mobility mar­ket. They faci­li­ta­te effec­ti­ve heat dis­si­pa­ti­on and thus incre­a­se the per­for­mance and lifespan of batteries.

Alex­an­der Neu­mann, Sales Mana­ger Resin Sys­tems, exp­lains: "We are very proud that our inno­va­ti­ve resin sys­tem came out as the clear win­ner of this very deman­ding qua­li­fi­ca­ti­on pro­cess. The suc­cess­ful launch into the mar­ket for pot­ting com­pounds in vehi­cle bat­te­ries will crea­te com­ple­te­ly new sales poten­ti­al in the dou­ble-digit mil­li­on ran­ge for us in the future."

The new pot­ting resin is pro­du­ced near Turin at the Tro­fa­rel­lo site, which reached full cer­ti­fi­ca­ti­on to the most deman­ding qua­li­ty stan­dards in the auto­mo­ti­ve indus­try last year.
