VTB announced that Founder and CEO of online retailer Wildberries Tatyana Bakalchuk has joined the supervisory board, the bank said in a statement following its annual general meeting of shareholders. Another new director to join the board was CEO of Otkritie Non-state Pension Fund Mikhail Motorin. Bakalchuk and Motorin replaced Trust Bank head Alexander Sokolov and Chairman of the Management Board of FC Otkritie Bank Mikhail Zadornov on the supervisory board. The remaining elected candidates were on the previous supervisory board. Those to join the board from the Russian Federation were Deputy Prime Minister and government chief of staff Dmitry Grigorenko, who has chaired VTB's supervisory board since fall 2020, deputy government chief of staff Valery Sidorenko, Economic Development Minister Maxim Reshetnikov, Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseyev, Nord Stream 2 AG Executive Director Matthias Warnig, and VTB Chairman Andrei Kostin. Apart from Bakalchuk, those nominated as independent directors were head of the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) - a minority shareholder of VTB since 2013 - Israfil Mammadov, Vinci Vice President Yves Thibault De Silguy, and member of VTB's Shareholders Consultative Council Igor Repin.
