LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) _ W.W. Grainger Inc. (GWW) on Friday reported third-quarter earnings of $297 million.

The Lake Forest, Illinois-based company said it had net income of $5.65 per share.

The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $5.31 per share.

The seller of maintenance and other supplies posted revenue of $3.37 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.33 billion.

W.W. Grainger expects full-year earnings to be $19 to $20.50 per share, with revenue in the range of $12.7 billion to $13 billion.
