Now the temporary Östermalmshallen has been dismantled and transported away to have a new life in another place. The fittings and all other materials have been reused, recycled and sold. For the income that this has brought, Wallenstam is making a donation to the Stockholm City Mission of SEK 234,000. The donation will be used to purchase chairs for the activities that will be conducted in St Paul's Church when the renovation of the building is finished.

Today Wallenstam handed over an Östermalmstorg without a temporary market hall to the City of Stockholm. Dennis Wedin, Vice Mayor for Housing and Real Estate in the City of Stockholm was in attendance. Wallenstam acquired the market hall in February from the City of Stockholm.

'I am so pleased that this sale means that materials that could otherwise have been thrown away, will now continue to be used. Instead of taxpayers having to pay for a demolition, Wallenstam is now instead donating money to the Stockholm City Mission. This is a fantastic outcome,' says Dennis Wedin, Vice Mayor for Housing and Real Estate in the City of Stockholm.

Wallenstam is planning to reuse the market hall in another place, but exactly for what and where is still not fully clear. All the parts have been transported away for interim storage before they can be reassembled.

'The market hall is now dismantled and will be reused in another permanent location. It feels really great that the recycled material through this donation will benefit the most vulnerable in society,' says Mathias Aronsson, Vice CEO and Regional Director of Wallenstam.

'We are so happy and grateful that Wallenstam, which is also a co-financer of the renovation of St Paul's, has chosen to make another donation to our activities. We want to thank Wallenstam for all of their engagement in the construction of a new meeting place in Stockholm,' says Kicki Aldrin, Team leader Companies, large donations and trusts, Stockholm City Mission.
