Walmart Inc. will offer Western Union Co. money-transfer services in its stores, the companies said Tuesday.

The service, which would be available at the first of 4,700 Walmart stores starting in the spring, would allow Walmart customers to transfer money to people domestically or internationally.

A Western Union executive said the agreement would expand the company's financial services to more customers in the U.S. and abroad.

Walmart currently offers MoneyGram and Walmart2World to customers wishing to transfer money.
