Warner Music Group Corp. and Spotify Technology S.A. will collaborate on a series of podcasts about the making of hit songs from Warner Music's catalog, the companies said Thursday.

The podcasts will convey stories from artists and songwriters about how their music was created, the companies said.

Revenue from podcasts has been of growing importance to Spotify, which said in February that it has 2.2 million podcasts available on its streaming service. Last year, Spotify signed one of podcasting's largest-ever deals with Joe Rogan, whose podcast, "The Joe Rogan Experience," has since become exclusive to Spotify.
