Wayfair Inc. reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2022. For the third quarter, the company reported sales was USD 2,840 million compared to USD 3,121 million a year ago. Net loss was USD 283 million compared to USD 78 million a year ago.
For the nine months, sales was USD 9,117 million compared to USD 10,456 million a year ago. Net loss was USD 980 million compared to net income of USD 71 million a year ago. Basic loss per share from continuing operations was USD 9.28 compared to basic earnings per share from continuing operations of USD 0.68 a year ago. Diluted loss per share from continuing operations was USD 9.28 compared to diluted earnings per share from continuing operations of USD 0.65 a year ago.
Wayfair Inc., through its e-commerce platform, offers customers visually inspired browsing, compelling merchandising. The Companyâs customers span a range of demographics, with annual household incomes ranging from $25,000 to over $250,000, and also include business professionals, from small startups to global enterprises. The Company also features certain products under its house brands, such as Three Posts and Mercury Row. Through these house brands, the Company helps its customers navigate its product assortment to find items that match their needs. The Company operates through two segments: U.S. and International. The U.S. segment primarily consists of amounts earned through product sales through Wayfair's family of sites in the U.S. The International segment primarily consists of amounts earned through product sales through the Companyâs international sites. It operates as Wayfair.ca in Canada, Wayfair.co.uk in the United Kingdom, Wayfair.de in Germany and Wayfair.ie in Ireland.
