Spectacular pictures are coming from Namibia, where the heavy rains that affected the region in the last few days allowed to complete the impoundment of the dam in a record time and, by reaching the ogee crest level, allowing the water to overspill over the ogee crest for the first time.

The Dam received the flood of the flood of the Fish River, where it is located, and the volume of the water has rapidly increased from the previous 10% to the actual 99.3% (overall volume of 851 million cubic meters of water.

The Neckartal Dam is located 40 km west of Keetmanshoop in the Karas region, in the south of Namibia. The project, which is the first phase of the Neckartal Irrigation Scheme, has been inaugurated last year and will provide water for the future agricultural development of the area, which is mainly desertic.

The reservoir is able to hold 857 million cubic meters of water, which will be used to irrigate 5,000 hectares of land, thus making the best use of this precious resource that is the water.
