In addition to making it to the CDP Climate Change Leadership level (A-), Constantia Flexibles has been identified as a global leader for engaging with its suppliers on climate change, being awarded a position on the 2020 Supplier Engagement Leaderboard by CDP.

By working with suppliers, value chain emissions can be reduced, which is vital to achieve ambitious climate goals, such as Constantia Flexibles' science-based target to reduce absolute scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions 24% by 2030 and 49% by 2050 from a 2015 base-year.

'Companies' emissions don't end at the factory door. In fact, CDP data shows a company's supply chain emissions are over 11.4 times greater than its direct emissions on average. Meaningful corporate climate action means engaging with suppliers to reduce emissions across the value chain. Despite the challenges from COVID-19, in 2020 nearly 400 companies achieved a place on CDP's Supplier Engagement Leaderboard. Companies responding to the full version of the CDP climate change questionnaire also receive a Supplier Engagement Rating (SER) in addition to their climate change score. The SER provides a rating for how effectively companies are engaging their suppliers on climate change - companies with the best SER are celebrated as Supplier Engagement Leaders.

CDP 's annual environmental disclosure and scoring process is widely recognized as the gold standard of corporate environmental transparency. In 2020, 515 investors with US$106 trillion in assets, and 150+ large purchasers with US$4 trillion in buying power requested thousands of companies to disclose through CDP. Over 9,600 companies with over 50% of global market capitalization disclosed environmental data through CDP in 2020. This is in addition to the hundreds of cities, states and regions who disclosed, making CDP's platform one of the richest sources of information globally on how companies and governments are driving environmental change.
