Important Information Regarding Your Fund's Distribution
Western Asset Mortgage Opportunity Fund Inc. (DMO; CUSIP: 95790B109)
August 2, 2021:
The Fund paid a regular monthly distribution of $0.11250 per common share on August 2, 2021. Based on the Fund's fiscal year-to-date activity and subject to revision, the Fund currently estimates that approximately $0.03855 per share of this distribution may be a return of capital. The balance of the distribution is derived from undistributed net investment income.
This information is being provided pursuant to Section 19(a) of the Investment Company Act of 1940, as amended, and should not be used for tax reporting purposes. In early 2022, after definitive information is available, the Fund will send shareholders a Form 1099-DIV specifying how the distributions paid by the Fund during calendar year 2021 have been characterized for purposes of reporting the distributions on a shareholder's tax returns.

Western Asset Mortgage Opportunity Fund Inc. (the Fund) is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fundâs primary investment objective is to provide current income. As a secondary investment objective, the Fund will seek capital appreciation. The Fund seeks to achieve its investment objectives by investing primarily in a diverse portfolio of mortgage-backed securities and mortgage whole loans. Investments in mortgage-backed securities consist primarily of non-agency residential mortgage-backed securities and commercial mortgage-backed securities. The Fundâs investments in mortgage whole loans under normal circumstances will not exceed 20% of its managed assets. The Fund also may invest in other permitted investments, including cash and cash equivalents; Treasury securities; non-mortgage related asset-backed securities (ABS) backed by various asset classes.
