Westminster Group PLC have recently won a bid to provide the Northern Ireland Prison Service with multiple WGX-25 Cabinet Mail Scanners.

The WGX-25 is a freestanding postal security x-ray screening cabinet, designed for easy use by non-technical staff. It combines an inspection chamber with a slim-line cabinet allowing operators to examine mail, large parcels, and briefcases in areas where space is at a premium.

In seconds, the scanner produces a clear colour image of the contents of the mail, which is displayed on-screen. This allows operators to distinguish easily between harmless items and malicious mail and instantly confirm a parcel's safety.

The scanners will be distributed to prisons in Northern Ireland and will be used to scan any mail and parcels that enter the premises for contraband.
