Commitment
The health, safety and wellbeing of our employees and stakeholders is at the core of Wienerberger's business.
Our vision is to be the safest producer and provider of building materials and infrastructure solutions within our industry sector. We have a clear goal - Zero Accidents!
We are committed in providing a safe and healthy working environment and understand that this is a human right. Good Health & Safety practices also bring eciency and make us a sustainable organisation. It is recognised that high standards of Health & Safety require persistent management focus, supported by both financial and physical resources.
We demonstrate our commitment through our continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborative and engaging processes involving our employees, third parties, and customers.
Our employees show personal commitment by always recognising, encouraging, and exhibiting safe behaviours and using our Safety Principles. We acknowledge that all accidents are preventable.
In Wienerberger, Health & Safety adds value, increases levels of engagement, and empowers our people to walk the talk.
Responsibility
We shall deploy and maintain an eective Health & Safety management system that will ensure the following key safety objectives are achieved:
Health & Safety performance shall be monitored and is subject to regular management review.
Risks will be identified and managed to the lowest practicable levels.
All accidents, incidents and safety concerns shall be fully investigated to identify root cause, with appropriate remedial measures actioned as required.
Sucient training and information shall be provided to all individuals that enable our operations to be undertaken in the safest possible manner.
All operations and interests shall be assessed, with suitable and sucient resources made available to minimise risks as far as reasonably practicable.
Health & Safety responsibilities shall be defined for our managers, employees and third parties to understand their commitment.
Our operations shall be well maintained with good housekeeping to contribute to accident prevention.
Comply with all applicable local laws and regulations in countries where Wienerberger is present, as well as maintaining and deploying our own defined safety standards and guidelines.
As board members, we give the full backing to this Policy and support all who carry it out.
Compliance
Wienerberger shall measure Health & Safety compliance via periodic audits, site inspections, safety concerns and visible leadership. Site management shall take corrective and appropriate action to rectify any non-compliance identified.
Compliance with this Policy and our Safety Principles is a condition of employment. Wienerberger promotes a cooperative approach, and in instances where safety rules have not been followed, workers will be consulted to discover the reasons why. Equally, recognition and reward for good practices, safe behaviours, and exemplary leadership in Health & Safety are valued and encouraged.

Wienerberger AG is one of Europe's largest building materials producers. Net sales break down by family of products as follows:
- walls, ceilings and roofing (54%): perforated bricks, facing bricks, tiles (clay, concrete or chimney tiles). Wienerberger AG is the world's leading producer of bricks;
- pipes (27%): pipes for water conveyance and sewers and concrete floor tiles.
The remaining sales (19%) relate to activity in North America.
At the end of 2022, the group operated 216 industrial sites worldwide.
Net sales are distributed geographically as follows: Germany (6%), the United Kingdom (8.2%), the Netherlands (8%), Austria (5.8%), Poland (5.5%), France (5%), Europe (30.5%), the United States (17.4%) and other (13.6%).
