Wirecard AG reported financial results for the year 2016. For the year, the group revenues were increased by 33.3% to EUR 1,028.4 million against EUR 771.3 million for the same period of last year. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased in 2016 compared to the previous year by 35.2% to EUR 307.4 million against EUR 227.3 million for the same period of last year. The cash flow from operating activities (adjusted) amounted to EUR 283.0 million against EUR 199.7 million for the same period of last year. In the 2016 fiscal year, earnings after tax increased by 87.0% to EUR 266.7 million against EUR 142.6 million for the same period of last year. Adjusted for the income from the sale of shares in Visa Europe to Vis Inc., earnings after tax amounted to EUR 176.7 million. Earnings per share increased by 86.0% to EUR 2.16 against EUR 1.16 for the same period of last year. Adjusted for the special effect from the sale of Visa Europe, earnings per share amounted to EUR 1.43.

The management board of the company expects a strong performance in the 2017 fiscal year and confirms its forecast for earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) of between EUR 382 million and EUR 400 million.
