Wizz Air, Romania's largest and Europe's fastest growing, most sustainable airline, is pleased to welcome on Monday, October 3rd, three new aircraft that will support flights operated from Bucharest with increased frequencies on over 20 existing routes. This addition will provide 1.200.000 yearly additional seats to Romanian passengers, offering more travel alternatives when booking flights with Wizz Air. All three new aircraft started flying to and from Bucharest on October 3rd and, to mark this important event, the first aircraft was welcomed after landing from Valencia.

After the significant expansion announced in September, Wizz Air consolidated its position as the largest operator in Romania, with 36 aircraft, and at Bucharest 'Henri Coanda' International Airport as well, with 15 aircraft. The number of aircraft at Bucharest airport will reach 17 by the end of this year. Furthermore, the additional aircraft will support the introduction of three new routes from Bucharest to Athens, Prague, and Larnaca from December 2022. In total, Wizz Air now operates 67 low-fare routes to 20 countries in Europe and the Middle East from Otopeni Airport, continuously investing in the development of the network.

In addition, Wizz Air has recently re-introduced rescue fares tickets for Blue Air customers affected by the airline's newly cancelled flights. Blue Air passengers can book Wizz Air flights on selected routes from 39.99 EUR using the booking reference of the Blue Air reservation. Bookings can be made via Wizz Air's special rescue fare site at https://wizzair.com/en-gb#/rescue.

Evelin Jeckel, Acting Network Officer at Wizz Air, said: 'We remain committed to the Romanian market and, with these three new aircraft delivered today at Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport, we are excited to introduce 1.200.000 yearly additional seats for Romanian passengers. The increased frequencies on over 20 routes will thus better support Wizz Air operations and will help us fulfil our duty to ensure a safe and pleasant travel experience, even in these still challenging times for the industry. Now offering 67 routes from Bucharest and close to 200 routes from Romania, Wizz Air firmly establishes itself as the market leader, ensuring diverse and popular destinations to its passengers.'
