ASX Announcement - Court Hearing to Approve Compromise or Arrangement in relation to proposed debt restructuring

Wollongong Coal Limited (ASX Code: WLC) (Company) refers to its previous ASX announcements dated 19 March 2019, 12 November 2019, 6 December 2019, 23 December 2019, 30 January 2020 and 3 February 2020 (Announcements).

Unless expressly stated otherwise, defined terms and expressions in this announcement shall have the same meaning as in the previous Announcements

Second Court Hearing

The Company advises that the Court proceedings to approve proposed schemes of arrangement (Schemes) between secured lenders under the Facilities and the Company and Jindal Steel and Power (Australia) Pty Ltd (JSPAL) (Scheme Companies), were listed before the NSW Supreme Court today for a Second Court Hearing.

The Second Court Hearing was part heard and stood over for further hearing to tomorrow, Wednesday 12 February 2020.

Debt Restructuring incomplete

The debt restructuring remains incomplete and remains subject to conditions. The Company will make further announcements as the restructuring progresses. Persons dealing with the Company should exercise caution pending such further announcements. The restructuring of the Facilities carry significant execution risk and are conditional. No assurance may be given at this time regarding the restructuring.

Wollongong Coal Limited is a mining company, which owns and operates the Russell Vale Colliery and Wongawilli Colliery in the Southern Coalfields Region of New South Wales. The Company is engaged in expanding and developing Russell Vale colliery; mining and producing coal, and selling and exporting coal. The Company operates through the segment of coal mining, coal preparation and export of coal. The Russell Vale Colliery is located approximately 10 kilometers north of Wollongong and approximately 60 kilometers south of Sydney. The Russell Vale Colliery mine is spread over approximately 6,420 hectares and comprises over three coal seams, including the Bulli, Balgownie and Wongawilli seams. Wongawilli Colliery is located approximately 15 kilometers south-west of Wollongong and 80 kilometers south-west of Sydney. Its mines are situated in close proximity to the Port Kembla Coal Terminal. Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL) is its ultimate parent company.
