FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) _ Woodward Inc. (WWD) on Monday reported fiscal second-quarter earnings of $47.9 million.

On a per-share basis, the Fort Collins, Colorado-based company said it had net income of 74 cents. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 72 cents per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 86 cents per share.

The maker of cockpit controls and other equipment for the defense and aerospace markets posted revenue of $586.8 million in the period, also missing Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $600.3 million.

Woodward expects full-year earnings in the range of $3.20 to $3.60 per share, with revenue in the range of $2.4 billion to $2.55 billion.
