April 1 (Reuters) - Workday Inc said on Thursday David Duffield had resigned as chairman and that co-Chief Executive Officer Aneel Bhusri would take over his role.

Duffield, who is a co-founder and former CEO of the company, was appointed chairman emeritus by the board, Workday said in a regulatory filing. (https://bit.ly/2PSCDMg)

The company also said Michael Stankey had resigned as board member, but would continue as vice chairman.

"Stankey's decision to resign was not the result of any disagreement with management or the Board, or related to Workdays operations, policies, or practices," the company said.
