Worldgate Global Logistics Ltd. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2017. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of MYR 22.116 million against MYR 15.676 million a year ago. The increase was due to the fact that the Group reasonably lowered its gross profit margin to attract more customers as well as retaining existing customers and boost the revenue since the fourth quarter 2016. Majority of the Group's income was attributable to freight charges for the six months ended 30 June 2017 and 2016. For the six months ended 30 June 2017, approximately 57.3% and 38.9% of the Group's revenue was attributable to air freight services and sea freight services, respectively. For the six months ended 30 June 2016 approximately 56.4% and 39.6% of the Group's turnover was attributable to air freight service and sea freight service, respectively. Loss before income tax expense was MYR 0.783 million against MYR 4.216 million a year ago. Loss for the period attributable to owners of the company was MYR 1.049 million or 0.13 sen per basic and diluted share against MYR 4.458 million or 0.74 sen per basic and diluted share a year ago. For the six months, the company reported revenue of MYR 43.380 million against MYR 33.432 million a year ago. Loss before income tax expense was MYR 1.273 million against MYR 5.540 million a year ago. Loss for the period attributable to owners of the company was MYR 1.804 million or 0.23 sen per basic and diluted share against MYR 6.100 million or 1.02 sen per basic and diluted share a year ago. Net cash from operating activities was MYR 4.677 million against net cash used in operating activities of MYR 3.452 million a year ago. Purchases of property, plant and equipment was MYR 1.104 million against MYR 1.264 million a year ago. Revenue for the six months ended 30 June 2017 increased by approximately 29.8% or approximately MYR 9.9 million as compared to that of the same period in 2016, as a result of the increase in air freight and sea freight shipment volume.
