NEW YORK (AP) _ WW International, Inc. (WW) on Tuesday reported second-quarter net income of $8.9 million.

The New York-based company said it had net income of 12 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 48 cents per share.

The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of five analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 67 cents per share.

The weight-loss program operator posted revenue of $311.4 million in the period, which also missed Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $338 million.

WW International expects full-year earnings in the range of $1.63 to $1.78 per share, with revenue expected to be $1.3 billion.

WW International shares have climbed 32% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Tuesday, shares hit $32.29, a climb of 33% in the last 12 months.
