Wyld Networks has signed a contract with Eutelsat S.A. Eutelsat has placed a purchase order worth SEK 900,000 for five satellite IoT test terminals. Only 15% of the worlds surface is covered by terrestrial wireless networks. With the expansion of the Internet of Things (IoT), in sectors as diverse as transport, oil and gas, and agriculture, business-critical information from tens of millions of IoT sensors will need to be sent from the 85% of the worlds surface that are not served by terrestrial networks. Eutelsat's fleet of Low Earth Orbiting (LEO) satellites, called ELO (Eutelsat LEO for Objects), will offer global IoT coverage enabling sensors to transmit data, irrespective of their location, demonstrating the fundamental complementarity between terrestrial networks and satellite technology. Wyld Networks will deliver five satellite test terminals in Fourth Quarter 2021, in addition to those delivered in second quarter of 2021, that support both satellite and terrestrial LPWA (low-power wide-area network) connectivity as part of the test phase of the Eutelsat ELO programme.
