(Hong Kong, 28 September 2022) Xinyi Glass Holdings Limited ("Xinyi Glass" or the "Group")(stock code: 00868), a leading integrated automobile glass, energy-saving architectural glass and high-quality float glass manufacturer, announced today that 63.65% of its eligible shareholders have elected under the Group's scrip dividend scheme to reinvest their interim dividend in Xinyi Glass' shares.
The scrip dividend scheme allows shareholders to elect to receive the Company's dividend wholly or partly in new and fully paid shares of the Company in lieu of cash dividend. The Group issued a total of 69,102,480 scrip shares, representing 1.71% of its shares before the issue. The price of each new share is HK$14.87.
Dr. LEE Yin Yee, B.B.S., Chairman of Xinyi Glass, said, "Shareholders electing to increase their shareholding in the Group by way of scrip dividend is reflective of their confidence in Xinyi Glass' long-term development in the future. Although the industry development will face challenge brought by uncertain economic environment in the short run, with the pandemic stabilizing gradually, supply and demand relationship is expected to improve.
