The board of directors of Yangtzekiang Garment Limited announced to the shareholders that it expects to record a loss for the year ended 31 March 2020 in the range of between HKD 45 million and HKD 65 million as compared to a profit after taxation of approximately HKD 20 million for the year ended 31 March 2019. The Board is of the view that the expected loss was mainly attributable to: the decrease in the amount of sales revenue of garment business caused by Sino-US trade dispute and economical adversities; a decrease in fair value of investment property; the impairment loss of property, plant and equipment, trade receivables and inventories and the poor performance of the textile business operated by joint ventures in Wuxi due to Sino-US trade dispute and Covid-19 pandemic.
