Shanta Gold Ltd. said Wednesday that Yintai Gold Co., Ltd. no longer plans to make an offer for the company.

The AIM-listed mining company said on Oct. 18 that it had received takeover approaches from Shandong Gold Group Co., Yintai Gold Co. and Chaarat Gold Holdings Ltd., and that it was in talks with each of the parties.

The potential bidders have until Nov. 15 to either make an offer or walk away under U.K. Takeover Panel rules.

Shanta Gold shares at 0817 GMT were down 0.65 pence, or 6.2%, at 9.85 pence.
