The Zehnder Group signed the contract to acquire a majority share of 75% in French company Caladair on 7 October 2021. Founded in 1979 and headquartered in Mâcon in the Burgundy region, the company develops, manufactures and sells energy-efficient ventilation and thermodynamic systems, primarily for commercial buildings. With 80 employees, the company achieved sales of around EUR10million in 2020, of which one third outside France.

Through the acquisition, the Zehnder Group expands its ventilation product portfolio to include large-scale units for commercial buildings and multi-family houses - a strategically important sector that will allow it to close a gap in its product range. Caladair will continue operating at its current location under the management of the current managing director, who holds the minority share of 25%. The existing customer base is to be maintained and strengthened. In addition, Caladair products will be sold via established sales channels in the Zehnder Group's various markets, and further synergies will be exploited.

The closing of the purchase is expected to take place in the coming weeks and is subject to customary closing conditions. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
