Vujovićeva said, the air quality problem of Bor city has existed for decades. Since Zijin took over the project, the company has been working with Serbian Department of Environment to make great efforts to solve this problem. According to data from monitoring system in August, the air quality of the city has been improved significantly after using the new emission circular collection.

Milikic said, thanks to Zijin's investment, the fiscal budget of Bor city has almost doubled compared to 2008, which will help the ecologically construction of the city.

Liu Kai commented: 'Both China and Serbia believe the importance of environment protection for sustainable development, and we appreciate the effort made by both local government and Zijin Mining to protect ecology and environment.

Since Zijin Mining took over Bor Copper mines, it has invested 142M USD to improve local ecology and environment, which is more than double of the amount agreed in strategic agreement. Apart from emission circular collection system, waste water collection system is also under construction for Jama Mine and Majdanpek Mine.
