We're fresh off of Zoomtopia 2021, and we are so grateful to those who attended to learn more about Zoom and the innovations we are developing. In this month's release, we're bringing you new capabilities across the entire platform, including a few we talked about for the first time at Zoomtopia.

Zoom Chat

We're continuing to create enhancements to Zoom Chat as part of our ongoing effort to streamline workflows, reduce friction in collaborating, and personalize your own experience.

Rich text formatting

Enhanced rich text message capabilities allow for better chat message formatting options, including expanded options for the desktop client such as bold, italics, underlining, strikethrough, highlight and text color, font size, bulleted and numbered lists, hyperlinks, and indenting. Our mobile app users can bold, italicize, strikethrough, underline, and create a bulleted or numbered list. These options are available for new messages, replies, and editing messages.

[Link]Custom personal note

Out of the office for a few days? Add a custom personal note, specify how long the message displays, and inform those directly messaging or mentioning you of your unavailability.

Quote messages

You can also quote specific messages sent in a channel, which helps avoid confusion and eliminates the need for others to scroll up to view the initial question or message. Images and bot messages cannot be quoted.

Zoom Meetings

We've added some additional security and audio enhancements to Zoom Meetings:

Security settings overview

The host and co-host in a meeting can quickly check what security features are currently in effect for the meeting they are hosting, helping to protect your meetings. This information is accessible through the in-meeting encryption shield, located in the top-left corner of the meeting.

Aligned separate audio tracks for local recording

When you're recording separate audio tracks for a local recording during a meeting, the audio tracks will be in sync with each other and start at the same time. Recording tracks will increase in size slightly, as extra padding will be added to each file to ensure tracks all begin at the same time.
