OEPSAŞ, Zorlu Enerji's Retail Electricity Sales Company, equalizes the number of its female and male employees

Operating with the vision of becoming the energy company of the future, Zorlu Enerji's Retail Electricity Sales Company OEPSAŞ increased the number of its female employees compared to the previous year and balanced the rate of its female and male employees.OEPSAŞ takes diversity and inclusiveness among its priorities. And the company increased the ratio of female employees in managerial positions to 50 percent in the Eskişehir facility and handed over the management positions to female managers in Bilecik and Afyonkarahisar facilities.

In line with its Smart Life 2030 vision, Zorlu Enerji considers diversity and inclusion one of the most basic needs for achieving an innovative and creative business culture. Zorlu Enerji's Retail Electricity Sales Company OEPSAŞ (Osmangazi Perakende Elektrik Satış AŞ) -operating in Afyonkarahisar, Bilecik, Eskişehir, Kütahya, and Uşak- draws attention with its high rate of female employees in the energy sector, where women have an unfavorable position. Aiming to make Gender Mainstreaming a corporate culture, half of OEPSAŞ's more than 200 employees are women.

Stating that Zorlu Enerji has focused on providing equal opportunities to engage sustainability in its business conduct, Zorlu Enerji Human Resources DirectorSerpil Köşker continued: "At Zorlu Enerji, we work to make Gender Mainstreaming a corporate culture. Especially, we meticulously work on employing women to combat sectoral prejudices and strengthen the position of women in business life. On the way we set off with our motto 'It is Possible to Provide an Equal Life for All,' we continue to carry out new practices and cooperate with society, academia, and the business world on this issue to make discourses and workplace conditions more egalitarian. Furthermore, we partner with various institutions, including WING (Women in Geothermal Platform), TWRE (Turkish Women in Renewable Energy), and EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development)."

Managerial positions of OEPSAŞ are entrusted to women

Pointing out that they acted with a fair and egalitarian approach in business life and cared about respecting human rights, Köşker mentioned:"We are proud of providing equal opportunities -one of the most crucial problems of our age- in energy sector, where the female employee rate is lower than many other sectors. We have equalized the number of female and male employees in manager and higher positions at OEPSAŞ, our Retail Sales Company. To become a successful company in line with our vision of becoming the energy company of the future, we have made diversity our priority in our management positions. Regarding our current employment figures, we have increased the number of women in managerial positions to 50 percent in some provinces we operate. All our management positions in our Bilecik and Afyonkarahisar facilities consist of women. We pay regard to offer equal opportunities to working women -the basis of social development- covering their entire career management."
